Mathematical Modeling, Constitutive Theories, and Computations

J. N. Reddy, Karan S. Surana, Albert Romkes

This minisymposium focuses on the development of mathematical models based on principles of thermodynamics for continuous media, mixed theories, and heterogeneous media including constitutive theories and homogenization methods, and the computational approaches for obtaining numerical solutions of the boundary value and initial value problems described by such models.

Emphasis will be placed on:

-Mathematical modeling of continuous media, mixture theories, and heterogeneous media

-Constitutive theories and homogenization methods

-Multiphysics interaction processes

-Phase-transition processes

-Computational approaches including: h, p, hp, and hpk methods, and adaptivity
